I've wanted to start a blog for some time but was stuck at the very beginning. What to write!? It's easy to get caught up in trying to be original or funny, touching or informative. Should I document fashion trends? Post various photos? Satirize U.S. politics? My search continued until recently...the first Tuesday. A close someone and I found ourselves with a completely free day. We'd planned coffee with computers, a trip to the mall, a meal here and there, a Monty Python movie, and some hot toddies. We're fun as hell! Anyway...from this day, Tuesdays with Jonny arose.

Enjoy!

5/24/11- Discoveries abound

The mom, the girl and I sent out on an adventure.  There were a couple things on the must do list (all fun) and after that we just winged it.  It was freeing.  We must have covered about 100 miles when all was said and done, including a brief jaunt over the New York State border where we found some records at a thrift shop.  The picture above is of a salvage yard of sorts called United House Wrecking.  It was super fun to explore, albeit sorely overpriced.  The highlight was getting my long winded fortune from an old Zoltar machine.  Jess urged me to be careful what I wished for!

Now to your day:

Text #1:  "Oh god...2 hour business trip back to Tampa with director and exec director... Save me!!!

There'll be no saving you if either the driver or gestures McGee follow my blog Kaeleen...

Text #2:  "A PICC line runs medicine through a catheter that drops directly into my heart...fun stuff

Poor Nick!  Is it too soon to point out the irony that all those medical doohickies are covering a tattoo that says "Carpe Diem"?  Just saying.

Text #3:  "Salt Lake City"

Jeremy, did you grab onto a Mormon and wait for the Rapture?  Do they believe that?  Is that offensive? ...well, now it's awkward.

Text #4:  "My new tattoo's best friend today.  I've been carrying it everywhere!"

Guhhrrrl...you better get up on that cocoa butter!  But seriously Luann, tattoo care is no laughing matter. Feel free to follow these 6 Easy Steps.

Text #5:  "Bringing back the memories!"

This is Regina's second run in with nostalgia on tuesdays.  I can't say too much about this one or I'll be in trouble.  'nough said!

Text #6:  "The ceiling at village cinemas east!  I don't have a job so I go to midday movies (really miss cheap suburban matinee prices though)

Addie, I have the answer to your woes.  I know where you can work and see movies for free!  Have you heard of the village cinemas east?

Text #7:  "Dining with the ladies"

By ladies she means militant feminists and by dining she means waiting a long-ass time for our vegan burgers to arrive.  All in all, a great experience!

Text # 8:  "Fun times at the United Wrecking Co."

Stoic, yet kind, the cement lion would not play with Faithie even when provoked!

Text #9:  "Tuesday afternoon, ash and I are Chilean miner larping."

Now I've not larped in some time Erin but I'm sure I don't remember having nearly the glee of this happy fellow... you know...the last time I larped.  ps.  While I've exploited the typo, just check out the definition of Larp that I found.  Awesome!!

Text #10:  (sent in 3 parts and pasted together)  "We have this wonderful shade tree in our back yard...and it has your name...all over it!"

So what if it's the tree people and their loyal hound?  I have fans!!  Leslie and Max, I'll be there ASAP!!

Final Thoughts

Today three weeks of gray skies, rainy days, and cabin fever gave way to a beautiful, sunny, warmth spent with two very important ladies in my life.  What's better than that?  We talked.  We laughed.  We ate.  We explored.  There's truly something to be said for the comforts of home.  A reminder: it's always cool to seek a refuge and a little help.  Pinpoint your happy place and enjoy it when you can.  Life is just too damn short not to spend time and make memories with folks you love!

Till next time...

Jonny
