I've wanted to start a blog for some time but was stuck at the very beginning. What to write!? It's easy to get caught up in trying to be original or funny, touching or informative. Should I document fashion trends? Post various photos? Satirize U.S. politics? My search continued until recently...the first Tuesday. A close someone and I found ourselves with a completely free day. We'd planned coffee with computers, a trip to the mall, a meal here and there, a Monty Python movie, and some hot toddies. We're fun as hell! Anyway...from this day, Tuesdays with Jonny arose.

Enjoy!

4/12/11- A day of surprises...a pictorial in two parts!!

Part 1: My lady surprised me with an adventure!  This is my Tuesday...Ready?  GO!!

This is Pinky's.  They just won Creative Loafing's Breakfast Bowl...quite an honor!  CLICK HERE

2 frittatas, home fries, whole wheat toast, a great cup for coffee and...wait for it...jalapeno cheddar grits!

The Hotel Grand in Lake Wales, FL looks like my nightmares.   CLICK HERE

Jess took me to a spot where cars roll backwards uphill.  Seeing is believing!  CLICK HERE

The main event was Bok Tower Gardens.  Just beautiful!  CLICK HERE
Tiptoeing through the tulips!
I didn't need to make any wishes today!

A little romance in the shadows.

After a day of exploring Lake Wales, FL our hunger lead us to Wine Exchange in Hyde Park Village.  CLICK HERE

We kicked off our meal with baked brie wrapped in phyllo dough.
[there should be a salad picture here but we were obviously too busy with the brie to worry about it!]

The main course was "Pasta for your thoughts": shrimp, scallops, asparagus, capers, sundried  tomatoes and feta in a garlic lemon butter sauce over penne.  What!?!?

Part 2.  This is your Tuesday:

Text# 1:  "This is never a good way to start the day."

Leslie, are you trying to bring back the beeper?  You should try to avoid MSG.  I know place with great Egg Foo Yung.

Text #2:  "Getting typed out at Telsey by 10:21!  Woohoo!

I'm sure that Kelly would want me to explain to the laymen that getting "typed out" is an audition term for being cut before even auditioning.  Never a great feeling after you woke up, prettied yourself, and headed to the audition studio by 9:30am!

Text #3:  "My Tuesday sucks so I'm sending you a picture of my big gay Monday!  The best of times are now..."

Generally a non-Tuesday picture is a punishable offense, but how can I possibly not allow Yvette's rainbow of fruit flavor?

Text #4:  "Ash's music class.  He was showing off his sweet drumming skills."
We have a budding rock star in our midst.  His little hands are moving so fast, Erin could barely keep him in focus.

Text #5:  "My Tuesday spent kickin' it around with you"

Yes folks, that me at Pinky's (stop #1) taking in the latest Tampa news.  Thanks Jess for trying to capture my good side.

Text #6:  "Spring is sprung, the grass is riz, I wonder where the flowers is..."

My mother's inspired poetry is clearly the result of some good old Connecticut cabin fever.

Text #7:  "I start rehearsals on Monday, so I'm spending this Tuesday learning as much of the 342 page score as I can!"

342 page score Schmidt?  That can't be "Grease"!  You trying your hand at opera?

Text #8:  "Cue Alice in Wonderlad Jr. tech week!"

Ummm...wow Danielle!  That's...uh...did the kids build that themselves?

Text #9:  ":-("

Lowe, Tuesdays are just not supposed to look like this!  I hope you didn't try to use all of these products at once.

Text #10:  "This little guy wants out as bad as I do"

Is that a donkey or a mule?  I never can tell.  Eh...anyway... You say escape attempt... I say headrest.

Final Thoughts

What a Tuesday!  I'm still smiling from mine.  Whether you were hard at work, delighting in play, or plotting an escape, I hope your day was full.  And what better way to fill a day than with the wonderful people in your life?

This week you have an assignment.  Take a moment and choose a person in your life to surprise with something fun!   It could be an intricate plan or a simple gesture.  Just something to let that person know that they're worth your extra thought.  It's these tidbits that go the extra mile in relationships and friendships alike.  After all, who doesn't love the warm and fuzzies?

Till next time...

Jonny
