I've wanted to start a blog for some time but was stuck at the very beginning. What to write!? It's easy to get caught up in trying to be original or funny, touching or informative. Should I document fashion trends? Post various photos? Satirize U.S. politics? My search continued until recently...the first Tuesday. A close someone and I found ourselves with a completely free day. We'd planned coffee with computers, a trip to the mall, a meal here and there, a Monty Python movie, and some hot toddies. We're fun as hell! Anyway...from this day, Tuesdays with Jonny arose.

Enjoy!

3/22/11- A vacation from my...pre mature retirement?

When you're 31 and in the midst of a delusional retirement without no pension, the only thing that makes sense is a road trip.  Right!?  Just me?  And when you live Tampa Bay it's most logical to head to Southern Florida- home of real surf!  This print was made on a kick ass iPhone app called Half Tone.  Really captures the thrill of the open road!  Here goes:

Text #1:  "My Tuesday - Office Work.  Peace!"

I'm not sure that's as much peace as it is a gang sign Kaeleen.  The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society may frown to known where your fundraising money comes from!

Text #2:  "SRQ-JFK"

The woman 2 rows ahead looks a tad suspicious.  Word to the wise Yvette, whenever I'm flying I like to come up with my personal watch list to thwart any funny business.  She just made the list.

Text #3:  "Day tow of Lucky Guy rehearsal, Off Broadway"

Ah, the familiar visage of an NYC rehearsal studio.  I'd prefer an action shot of some foot stomping and toe touches but I do appreciate how the black and white of the sheet music and binder compliment the piano.  Wait...I believe I've said too much.

Text #4:  "Not a great pic with my phone but this is my view Tuesday morning on my way to work."

Awwwwww, horsies!  Leslie, if you're anything like your daughter I can only imagine that you're steering with your left knee as you use one hand to adjust the radio and the other to take this lovely picture!  It's a talent that's terrifying yet awe inspiring.

Text #5:  "Bert and Ernie have groupies; the hosts from Wipeout."

There's only one thing gayer than Bert and Ernie; the hosts from Wipeout.  If you've never seen Wipeout, it's an obstacle course where eager competitors get thrashed in the most unfortunate ways.  It's truly...American!

Text #6:  "Check it out day 2 of park setup.  Happy Tuesday!"

Nick, I know that stage well.  In two short weeks, 20 or so actors will be sweating it out in the park while I polish off a cooler of Miller Light and sing along!

Text #7:  "What better way to start a Tuesday than with these two goofs showing up on your doorstep!?!?!?!?!?!"

Lock your doors and release the hounds.  These fools are armed with loud tunes and bad a jokes and are coming to a beach town near you!  Once Erin and Ashyr came out of hiding we had a nice little day antiquing.

Text #8:  "As I was putting milk, fresh from a grocery run, into the fridge, I knocked over this poor, little beer.  Now, I'm not usually one to Tap the Rockies, but I took it as a sign that 6pm meant drinking alone"

What a happy accident Kelly.  If I were there I'd never let you Tap into those Rockies alone!

Text #9:  "Sometimes you've gotta double fist when mom is in town!"

That's what she said!

Text #10:  "Taxes done"

I'm glad you got them done Faithie.  Last week...you know, when you didn't submit... I was worried that you were might be evading and dropped off the grid!

Text #11:  "Agnes in full effect"

As a rule Agnes does not pass a thrift store.  Who doesn't love a good deal!?  Please be sure to blow up the picture and notice that not one single article that Agnes has donned matches.  What a dreamboat!

Text #12:  "Cat sitting for Caitlin and Jordan while they're in Jamaica...

Who's your little friend?  I think it's clear that Kathleen literally got the shit end of the stick!

Part 2:  "And now I'm buying raw nasty chicken to boil for the dog.  Ahhhhhh!!!  A vegan's nightmare"

Why the hell does the dog need chicken.  I figured she'd be a tree huggin' hippie the the rest of ya... and me for that matter

Final Thoughts

This was perhaps the least congruent Tuesday we've had since our inception folks.  No, not the movie where you plant ideas in dreams...though that's cool.  I'm talking about since the commencement of Tuesdays.  Generally we have a few that stories that relate.  Tuesdays of delight and wonderment that line up in some way.  But you know what?  I love it.  We come together.  We drift apart.  We ebb, we flow.  Humanity is a wonderful thing.  Embrace our differences.  Strive to find places where we can come together.  Relate for a while.  Then go about your day with the conviction that your choices and risks are going to positively stir things up!  In short kick ass, take names and tell a friend!

Till next time...

Jonny
